Hey neighbors —
I spent last Saturday morning doing pure barre outdoors at Confluence Winery and I have two confessions: I didn't know Confluence existed, nor had I ever been in that part of Ridgefield before. It's gorgeous. Add it to your list, I updated the winery guide so you don't make my mistake.
This week's got a little of everything — water rules loosening up, e-bike laws you actually need to know, a permit rumor I chased down myself, and the 4th of July guide you've been waiting for. Let's go.

City Hall
You Can Wash Your Car Again — and the City Just Loosened Up on Backyard Water Too
Ridgefield's updated water conservation strategy ditches the home car-washing ban and gives kiddie pools and splash pads some breathing room for summer. I had no idea this ban even existed, did you?

I Checked
I Asked the City About That Garage Sale Permit Rumor. Here's the Real Answer.
Nextdoor has been arguing about garage sale permits for weeks, possibly longer. So I emailed City Hall directly and got a straight answer - so now Nextdoor can go back to arguing about cats.

The T-Rex Skull Has Landed — At the Library
Remember Jason Morris — that is not Jason Morris pictured, just a random (my son) library visitor —, the Ridgefield man who built a monster for a Smithsonian museum? His 3D-printed T-Rex skull is now on display at the Ridgefield Community Library — and it's worth seeing in person.

👀 The Buzz
What we're watching in 98642.
Fishing season is open on Lake River. If you're heading out, give the WDFW Southwest region rules a read first — regulations shift and nobody wants a surprise conversation with a game warden. Check the rules here before you cast.
The Ridgefield Art Association is having a public reception at the Library tomorrow. Not entirely sure what "the reception" part entails, but visiting the T-Rex (still nameless — let's fix that together, drop your suggestions) and checking out some art sounds like a pretty good Saturday to us.

Just because the winery pairing got rescheduled doesn't mean the Raptors aren't playing. They've got games today through Sunday, so there's still plenty of baseball to catch this weekend. Schedule and tickets here →
Taps is showing the World Cup — and the U.S. plays Bosnia & Herzegovina next on July 1. If you've been doing "The Great American Sleepover" alone on your couch, here's your excuse to go watch with people who are slowly, begrudgingly becoming soccer fans. Taps Beer Reserve →
